We are childless for the weekend. Is that weird? Yes. Very. The house is quite and I forgot how much I hate the quietness of a house. I miss the little feet noises and the constant, but very intelligent questions my son asks and the cute little smile I see on my daughter's face, followed with "HI MOMMY!" when she sees me. Hmmmm... I suddenly feel very sad for couple with no kids. We don't know how much love and excitement they bring to life until they're not here.
Our kids are at Jason's parents house for the weekend. I know they're having a great time and probably not giving us much thought, but we miss them. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying this time "off" and having a small break. Mostly because I love time alone with Jase with no distractions, but also because I'm reminded, once again, how much I really do love being a Mommy. Jase had to do some work earlier (and is sick with cold) so I went to an early dinner and movie with my little sis. Lots of fun! We saw 27 Dresses, which we thought was a good movie. I like the "message", appreciated the ending (so not Hollywood style) and enjoyed the acting... even though it was a bit stale in places. I'm too picky.
Anyway, I miss my kids and life is weird without them. There, the title of this post made it in here twice.
Have a good weekend everyone!

I totally understand what you mean by it being weird, but it IS nice to have those brief times where you know your kids are well taken care of and you can have a break. God is good to give us those little blessings, which makes us appreciate how we are called to serve Him at each stage of life.
So, I hope you enjoyed your time...and I hope you enjoyed your reunion with your kids even more!
Oh, yes... it was very nice.Submitted by stef on Mon, 2008-01-28 14:33.
