We got some great news tonight! But... you have to hear the story first.
This past weekend we spent all of Saturday in Livermore at various places. We first went to my brother-in-law's graduation party, then we ate a delicious lunch at our favorite bar and grill in Livermore (The Alehouse on 1st Street) and then off to Grandma Elsie's apartment for a visit!
So... in all this fun and madness we somehow misplaced my car keys. Jason had them in his pocket and thought he remembered letting Rachel play with them, but couldn't remember where. So for the past 3 days we've been trying to retrace our steps, calling the various places we were at, asking the restaurant to look in their lost-and-found and asking Jason's Dad to check at Grandma's place. I quickly remembered the 1st time I lost my engagement ring and how devastated I felt. It was like looking for a needle in the haystack. All I could do was pray and ask God to give me the places to look... you all know how that story ended (yay!).
After 2 days of looking and praying went by, I decided it was probably a good idea to check into just getting a new key, just in case we never found my set. We knew we'd have to call the Chevrolet dealer, since my key is the only one that's programmed to start the engine. Jason's key only unlocks the car. We figured we'd have to have them make and program the new one. The service guy let me know that the key itself is $65 dollars and the programming of the car is another $100+ *OUCH*
Tomorrow I made plans to to call AAA to have the car towed to the Chevy dealership and then fork out the money so I can have my car back.
Tonight, I got a very exciting phone call... my Father-in-law was calling to let me know that while he was at Grandma Elsie's apartment tonight, he found my keys!! They were in the TV stand where Rachel was playing on Saturday.
What can I say... but just another small way to see the power of prayer and God's goodness, practically worked out. I know this story won't thrill many of you, but I am extremely happy and wanted to share!
