Cannot believe 9 months ago today, Kara was born! She's been alive the amount of time people are pregnant! She's also the age Ethan was when we found out I was pregnant with Rachel - that always amazes me. :-)
Kara is just the sweetest little thing! Even on nights when she decides sleep is overrated, or the days when she won't let me put her down. Her personality is so cute and I love watching her discover the world every day. She is a champion crawler and has begun standing with the help of furniture or solid toys. I think she's in a huge hurry to walk and run after her big brother and sister. I can see her studying their every move, watching them very closely and then trying to copy everything they do.
She decided about 2 weeks ago that she has had enough nursing and that, for me, was a sad week. I kept trying and decided even if all she wanted to do was "hang out" I'd let her, but within about 4 days, she was pushing away and very much letting me know her nursing days were over. I have to say though, 9 months was a huge bonus for me!! I was thinking we'd only make it to 6 months, so I'm congratulating her and myself, even though its a sad milestone.
She was a major trooper during our trip to Seattle and did awesome on the plane rides! Both flights were uneventful, with some slight fussiness just before landing. She was driven all over Seattle and surrounding cities (300 miles, to be exact) and did great with it. We're very proud of the good traveler she's become. She slept great in the hotel room, however I did not. I think I'm just partial to my bed and my home.
Big news in Kara's life (and ours as well) is that she has to have the same surgery Ethan had last summer. She appears to have inherited my bad ears and nose issues and so they will be removing her adenoids and putting tubes in her ears within the next couple of months. I think September/October is when they'd like to schedule it. She's learned how to say "Da-da" and "E-ah" which means Ethan... very cute. She's not talking nearly as much as Ethan or Rachel did at this age, but I'm fine with that. I'm still adjusting to the older two rambling my head off all day long. :) Ethan and Rachel talked in complete sentences by 1 year and they were slower with the physical side of things -- Kara appears to be catching on quicker with the physical side and "slower" with vocabulary. Amazing to see how different they all are! We're getting a new camera soon (I promise) so pictures should be up within the next couple of weeks! Happy July everyone!!

So your'e done nursing--so sad! But congrats for making it this far! :-) I wonder how much her adenoids play into her lack of interest....so surgery for her too...well, better earlier than later. She'll be a happier camper with the results. :-) Can't believe she'll be a walker soon--where have the last 9 mos gone!? :-)

Its crazy how fast they've gone by. Yeah... the nursing journey is over for us. I've been nerdy and tried a few more times, but she literally acts like I'm nuts and doesn't want anything to do with it. Which in turn makes the whole thing seem kind of perverted. :-\
I have a feeling she was just not getting much milk anymore and it just didn't seem worth it to her. I am SO glad we made it 9 months. Can't tell you how happy I am about that. Maybe our next baby will go 12, who knows!
They were saying its best to do the surgery when she's a year old and before she's super verbal... aids in not having as many speech issues afterward. We shall see!
